Whether you’re considering a church or a chapel, we are fully experienced in arranging traditional funerals in Scarborough and the surrounding area. We have been arranging funerals in North Yorkshire and the East Riding since 1927.

We offer pallbearers for coffins where feasible and tailor funerals to your exact wishes.

Does a traditional funeral mean a burial or a cremation?

It can include either. Some people may prefer a traditional funeral in a church but then journey to a crematorium for the final step. Or your family may have already have a reserved plot in a churchyard so would prefer a burial. We can arrange either.

A database of more than 50 local places of worship

If you’re not familiar with local places of worship, it can be hard to choose. Do they have an organ? Is there parking nearby? Is it suitable for wheelchairs? What’s the maximum number of people in a congregation?

Over the years we have developed an extensive database listing all these details. We have first-hand knowledge of the most popular churches in the area for traditional funerals. These include Scarborough and towns and villages in the Vale of York such as Brompton, Ayton, Thornton Dale and Seamer. Please contact us to discuss your preferences.

What religions do you cover?

We can deal with any religion. In the past we’ve arranged funerals for:

  • Church of England
  • Methodist
  • Roman Catholic
  • Humanist
  • Mormon

However, we are more than happy to discuss funerals for other religions too.

What sort of arrangements can you help make?
